Nasa. LARGE FORMAT. Apollo 11 mission. Rare. Historic photograph. In front of the American flag, the silhouette of the man working on the driote of the image next to the scientific tool storage cabinet of the lunar module "Eagle" is the only image of astronaut Neil Armstrong on lunar soil. Indeed, astronaut Buzz Aldrin is the only man to have been photographed on lunar soil during the two-and-a-half-hour "moon walk" by the crew of the Apollo 11 mission. Some claimed that Buzz Aldrin had "avenged" himself for not having been chosen to take the 1st step on the Moon. Buzz Aldrin was not a civilian, but a military man. It was only later that this photograph was identified as that of Neil Armstrong, whose only known appearance on the moon was that of his reflection in the most famous photograph of the space conquest: that of the "visor", where his silhouette is reflected in Buzz Aldrin's helmet. July 20, 1969. Later chromogenic print. Numbering on front. Label on back. 40.6 x 40.6CM with margins.
