The second manned lunar mission, Apollo 12 was launched from launch pad 39-A at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida on November 14, 1969, using a Saturn V launcher. This iconic photograph shows astronaut Alan L. Bean with a lunar sample collection tube and the HASSELBLAD astronaut camera on his chest. In the perfectly exposed light of his helmet visor, the full figure of astronaut and commander Charles Conrad is clearly visible. November 1969. Vintage chromogenic print.
