Extraordinary view of astronaut Bruce McCandless, II during an extravehicular activity (EVA), taken from inside the aft flight deck of the space shuttle Challenger (Mission STS41B). Astronaut Bruce Mc Candless uses his hands to control his movements in space while operating the nitrogen-powered maneuvering unit (MMU). McCandless floats without the tethers connecting him to the shuttle. McCandless exits the space shuttle a second time, this time from a distance of about 300 meters. February 1984.
