Description:
This is an architectural drawing, executed in pen and ink, depicting the interior view of a neoclassical vestibule. Ionic columns supporting an architrave can be seen, above which is a richly decorated frieze and a lunette-shaped window. Symmetrically placed sculptures in niches and a wreath-weaving putto above the central portal accentuate the axis of the room. The design is characterised by a determined precision and conveys a palpable interest in the reception of antiquity.
