Description:
This work shows an idyllic veduta, captured in an etching. The picture reveals a composition of various architectural elements - Gothic spires, a classical dome and an Egyptian pyramid shape - embedded in an exotic landscape with palm trees. Architectural precision and the atmospheric play of light characterise the depiction, which suggests an imagined, idealised scenery.
