Bundele (19th) after DÜRER (*1471), Lamentation of Christ, Copper engraving Bundele (19th century) after Albrecht Dürer (1471 Nuremberg - 1528 ibid.): Lamentation of the dead Christ under the cross, 19th century, Copper engraving Technique: Copper engraving on Paper Inscription: Lower right inscribed in the printing plate: "AD 1507". Date: 19th century Description: Reverse copy with Dürer's monogram and date. Inscribed "AD" and "1507" lower right. The image corresponds to sheet 12 from Dürer's engraved Passion, which was created between 1507 and 1512. The copy is one of the reprints by the Bamberg antiquarian Bundele, which are generally highly accurate. Older such copies are considered very rare. Unlike the original, the thorns of the crown of thorns do not touch the stone at the bottom.
