Inscribed in the printing plate: "AD 1511". Verso further inscription: "B.13.".
Date:
19th century
Description:
Copy on the same side with Dürer's monogram and date. Inscribed "1511" at the bottom left and "AD" to the right. The image corresponds to sheet 11 from Dürer's engraved Passion, which was created between 1507 and 1512. The copy is one of the Bamberg antiquarian Bundele's reprints, which are highly accurate overall. Christ on the Cross is the only depiction in this series that is printed on the correct page. Older copies of this series are very rare. In contrast to the original, the inscription "INRI" is somewhat narrower.
