PIRANESI (1758-1810), Tripod with satyrs, find from Pompeii, Etching Francesco Piranesi (1758 Rom - 1810 Paris): Tripod with satyrs, archaeological find from Pompeii, 19th century, Etching Technique: Etching on Paper Inscription: lower left signed in the printing plate: "F. Piranesi Del.Sc.". At the lower part inscribed in the printing plate: "Trepied de Satyres en bronze, trouvé à Pompeia". Date: 19th century Description: A detailed architectural drawing shows an antique bronze candelabra supported by three satyr figures. The symmetry and fine lines emphasise the artist's skilled craftsmanship.
