Piranesi L'an 1806". At the lower part inscribed in the printing plate: "Mains, heurtoirs, gonds et pentures en bronze qui ont servi aux portes des maisons à Pompeia". Date: 1806 Description: A detailed engraving shows a collection of metal fittings and decorative elements from the ruins of Pompeii in a symmetrical arrangement. In the centre are door handles in the shape of lions, flanked by geometrically shaped objects and decorative elements.
