B. Piranesi / Gravé par F. Piranesi L'an 1806". At the lower part inscribed in the printing plate: "Vue de links'Aspect du Temple d'Isis [...]". Date: 1806 Description: The picture illustrates an ancient landscape of ruins, characterised by classical architecture and columns of the destroyed Temple of Isis in the middle of Pompeii. A central staircase leads to a raised platform; figures in contemporary clothing lend the scene a lively context.
