Description:
Various posture and arm studies of men with a long polearm. Possibly studies for a battle scene with infantrymen against attacking cavalry. The soldiers are wearing 17th century-style cuirasses and cuirasses. Perhaps in connection with studies for the painting of the throne room of the German Embassy in the Palazzo Caffarelli in Rome from 1894.
