The Chorrera culture, more specifically Horizonte Chorrera, was located on the coast and part of the highlands of Ecuador between 1300 and 300 B.C. Its name applies to a classic style of pottery that is located in the interior of the Guayas basin, in the plains of the province of Esmeraldas and in the valleys of Manabí. At the regional level there are massive figurines, coarser, but more expressive and always molded by hand.
