Regis Castellæ & Legionis." and lower inscription: "Magni FERNANDI, veros in imagine vultus / Af picis, expreffit quos tibi docta manus. / Huius Alexandri faciem qui pinxit Apellem. / Fors dedit, ast animum pingere nemo potest." Originally signed and dated: “Bartolome murillo pins. Mathias Arteaga sculpt. et xcud A.1672”. Arteaga's signature has been erased, causing a tear in that part of the paper.
