First edition. - Rare, for us only traceable in two institutions (BNF Paris and BNCF Florence). - This book describes the rules, regulations, procedures, tasks, organization, curricula, etc. of the famous boys' school in Bologna. Founded in the mid-16th century, the academy was forced to close in the mid-18th century. A few years after the publication of this rare guide, none other than Bartolomeo Cesi was appointed drawing teacher at the Accademia, and later one of the most learned women of all time, Christina Roccati (1732-1797), joined the teaching staff. The text itself, which is divided into 58 headings ("Capitoli"), provides a fascinating insight into the ideal of a nobleman's education. - Spotting throughout. Overall well preserved.
