Bookplate. Stroehlin was a Swiss pastor and professor who taught at the University of Geneva. - Some browning due to paper, minimal spotting in places. Later full-leather binding by Hans Asper with gilt-stamped title on spine, standing and vegetal gilt inner edges and endpapers of marbled paper (only minimally and inconspicuously rubbed). - First edition of this important reformatory work in an early 20th century master binding - From the library of Gaspard Ernest Stroehlin (1844-1907), inside cover with mounted bookplate. - Some browning to paper, occasional minimal spotting.
