The depictions of the fish, which are dynamically placed in the pictorial space and imitate natural locomotion in the water, are particularly unusual. - Minimally and extremely delicately browned in the margins, individual sheets with small backed tears. Overall an extremely well-preserved and clean copy with well-differentiated, high-contrast plates. Zoology - Botany - Vol. 21 (single vol.) Oostelyk Indie. Prévost d'Exiles with numerous additions and corrections. - The present vol. 21 with the Natural History of the East Indies. - The plates engraved by the Dutch engraver Jacob van der Schley with depictions of numerous fish species, birds, reptiles, mammals as well as the local flora. Extraordinary especially the depictions of the fish, which were placed dynamically in the image space imitating the natural motion in the water. - Margins minimally and very delicately browned, single sheets with small backed tears.
