Cloth bds. d. (heavily rubbed and stained). Karl Hübler was appointed government master builder at the water and road construction administration in Mannheim in 1898. He was awarded an honorary doctorate at the engineering school of the Technical University in Karlsruhe in 1921 "in recognition of his outstanding achievements in the field of earthworks, tunnel construction and hydraulic engineering". (see Deutsche Bauzeitung, vol. LV, p. 430) Hübler also worked as director of the Mannheim construction company Grün und Bilfinger. - The first volume with 10 predominantly double-sheet-sized designs includes in particular construction drawings for steel railroad and road bridges with depictions of floor plans, cross-sections, static diagrams and railroad switches. This also includes a large-format drawing on three sheets with the design of a separating station. The second volume with 11 drawings deals with the design of a dam and a river correction and contains illustrations of weirs, locks, longitudinal profiles etc. - The drawings mostly with scales and inscriptions, mostly signed and dated. - Some somewhat stained, one drawing more so. Some browning due to paper. Overall very well-preserved and historically interesting collection.
