First edition. - Olga Szentpál was a Hungarian pioneer of modern dance. After studying at the Hungarian Academy of Music, she obtained her diploma at the school of Émile Jacque-Dalcroze (the founder of eurythmy) in Hellerau. Through her husband Márius Rabinovszky, she became involved in the modernist art scene and, as a teacher at the Academy of Drama and Film in Budapest, in modernist theater. She opened her own school in 1919 and founded the Szentpál dance group in 1926. - Illustrated with photographs by Hugo Erfurth, Olga Máté and the Italian-born Hungarian photographer and cameraman Angelo. - Slightly browned due to paper, some underlining on inside cover with pasted typewritten pages. Overall well preserved. First edition. With 28 plates after photoraphs. Ill. orig. paperback (scuffed, rubbed, somewhat soiled and creased). - Illustrated with photogr. illustrations by Hugo Erfurth, Olga Máté and the Italian-born Hungarian photographer and cameraman Angelo. - Paper moderately browned, partly with underlinings, in the inner cover with glued-in typewritten leaves.
