Osswald". - The Stuttgart-born illustrator and animal painter Eugen Osswald (1879-1960) was a pupil of Heinrich Zügel at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. He worked for the magazine "Jugend", among others, and exhibited regularly at the Munich Glaspalast. - The sheets show children playing and children's toys as well as a sheet with three drawings illustrating the Christmas story. - Verso with handwritten annotations in graphite, 2 sheets with mounted typographical information on the artist. Delicately browned in the margins and with occasional traces of atelier. 2 pp. with inconspicuous small holes due to earlier mounting. Overall very well preserved collection with strong coloring. Collection of 9 original illustrations for children's books on 5 sheets. Each pen and ink on buff vélin, 7 drawings additionally watercolored. Each signed, mostly dated. - 2 sheets with stamp "For damaged originals compensation is claimed. Eug.
