As the present pochoir designs show, Charles Martin was one of the most prominent Art Deco illustrators of the time. The album is dedicated to Berthe Cerny, an actress at the Comédie Française. She served as the model for the hat designs and can be seen in the four mounted photographic illustrations. In her dedication, Demay describes the actress as "la parfaite Parisienne". With a foreword by the writer Alfred Capus. - The illustration with bird of paradise with smoothed crease. Delicately browned due to paper. Inner hinge cracked. The pochoirs in bright coloring. In good condition.
