Fritz van der Vennes' oeuvre is characterized by his great interest in horses, which he painted in front of a wide variety of backdrops. Stylistically, the artist was certainly a German Impressionist, the echoes of Naturalism still shine through, the overall coloring is somewhat more subdued, which loosens up the scene of the carriage ride. Stylistically the artist was certainly part of German Impressionism, echoes of Naturalism are visible though, colors are rather subdued overall and lightens the scene of the carriage ride up.
