German States Saxony Helmet for Officers of the Heavy Cavalry Regiments Model 1849 Tall, elegant black leather helmet, complete with all fittings fire-gilt in brass. Crowned helmet plate in front with the ruler's monogram "J R" for King Johann, high helmet crest with lateral decorations. On the sides the suspension for the chinscales with medusa heads, on the left side with an applied Saxon cockade. The chinscales themselves are unfortunately missing. Black leather lining on the inside, with an old inventory label on the back. Inside under the helmet comb with ventilation holes. Only lightly worn in beautiful condition. Valued favourably due to the missing scale chains.; Condition-I (HW3)
