Oil on canvas. Composition following the engraving of Cornelis Galle II (1915-1678). The child rests peacefully on the cross, oblivious to the future development of events. He is surrounded by the Arma Christi or instruments of the Passion, which symbolize the suffering of Christ and at the same time allude to the weapons with which he conquered Death and the Devil. It is surrounded by devotional verses.
