Writing chest - England, 19th century - Five-drawer body on angled feet, beveled writing flap with compartments and drawers behind, central tabernacle compartment flanked by inlaid Corinthian columns and hunters, pull-out secret compartments; the top drawer with inlaid backgammon, on the underside with mill or chess game. Solid mahogany and veneer as well as local hardwoods, brass fittings. 114 x 59 x 104 cm. - The leather with signs of age.
