SCIENCE - CHARCOT Jean-Baptiste (1867-1936) - Autograph letter signed
Autograph letter signed, dated “27 octobre 1933” by the French scientist, medical doctor and polar scientist. His father was the neurologist Jean-Martin Charcot (1825–1893). He was appointed leader of the French Antarctic Expedition with the ship Français exploring the west coast of Graham Land from 1904 until 1907. The expedition reached Adelaide Island in 1905 and took pictures of the Palmer Archipelago and Loubet Coast. Addressed to a gentleman: “…Les regions que je parcours sont si peu fréquentées par les abeilles que ne vois véritablement rien à écrire sur les charmants insectes qui puisse vous interesser ainsi que vos lecteurs…”. 1 p.
