FOUR POTS H. max. 30 cm. Fired clay, with red clay slip in places. Egyptian, Prehistoric Period (Neqada I-II) and Early Dynastic Period, 1st-3rd Dynasty, 1st half 4th mill. B.C.-2800 B.C. a)-b) POINTED BEAKERS. - With pointed base and red polished surface. a) With black smoked rim. Lip chipped in places, surface worn. b) Thick rim. Lip worn; polish abraded. c) STORAGE VESSEL. - Vessel tapering to a pointed base with finely modelled lip. Carrier net painted onto it in imitation of the real thing for use in the beyond. Lip worn in several places. d) VESSEL WITH LUG HANDLES AND SPIRAL DECORATION. - Bellied vessel with lug handles and clearly modelled lip. Decorated with spirals. Lip damaged, surface severely abraded. Provenance: Coll. Siegrist, Riehen, Switzerland, acquired 1966-1970. VIER GEFÄSSE H. max. 30 cm. Gebrannter Ton, partiell rot brennender Tonschlicker. Ägyptisch, prähistorische Epoche (Nagade I-II) und Frühzeit, 1.-3. Dynastie, 1. Hälfte 4. Jt.v.C.-2700 v.C. a)-b) SPITZE BECHER. - Ohne Standfläche mit rot polierter Oberfläche. a) Mit schwarz geschmauchtem Rand. Diverse Ausbrüche an der Lippe, Oberfläche berieben. b) Mit wulstigem Rand. Bestossungen an Lippe, Politur berieben. c) VORRATSGEFÄSS. - Spitz zulaufend, mit feiner, abgesetzter Lippe. Aufgemaltes Tragnetz als Imitat des echten für den jenseitigen Gebrauch. Lippe mehrfach bestossen. d) SCHNURÖSENGEFÄSS MIT SPIRALDEKOR. - Bauchig; mit seitlichen Schnurösen, abgesetzter Lippe. Dekor diverser Kreisspiralen. Lippe beschädigt, Oberfläche stark berieben.
