«DANCE SCENE DURING THE FRENCH REVOLUTION»
Precious little polychrome bone, French made pre-industrial period handcrafted at Meru in the Oise. The scene, on two levels, reveal first on the upper part five figures: a young woman holding a flower garland face to a large wheel and next to her staying a man who beats time with his wand, beside them a young couple is dancing.
In the center stands an elegant Lady who seems to handle the wheel. On the lower part, four characters take part at each corner of the crank mechanism with two dogs sitting on the front. The scene is moved by the use of a crank placed on the lower level.
Very fragile, with small damage and missing parts.
