The large head of the mother dog is carved in a very lively manner, almost more human than dog-like with a look of amusement and black inlaid eyes. Very dense fur, its tail like boiling water. The puppy crawling around on one side, is still very young and delights his mother with his play. Himotoshi on the underside. Beautiful grain of the marine ivory
