Lacquered wood netsuke with mother-of-pearl inlays Japan late 19th century, Meiji period (1868-1912) A small gold, red and green lacquer netsuke of the lucky god Jurojin holding a staff in one hand and a scroll in the other. His robes are decorated with scrolling vines and geometrical patterns in gold takamaki-e and mother-of-pearl.
