A SMALL CHINESE BLANC DE CHINE BOTTLE VASE
KANGXI 1662-1722
The body with a tall flared neck^ encircled by a chilong with a bifurcated tail^ all raised on a short circular foot^ 12cm.
Provenance: a Hong Kong private collection^ from the Bindley Collection^ sold in these rooms on 15th July 2006^ lot 541.

G Lang^ The Wrestling Boys: An Exhibition of Chinese and Japanese Ceramics from the 16th to the 18th Century in the collection of Burghley House^ p.88^ no.227^ for a similar vase in Burghley House^ Stamford^ inventory of 1688. Also see J Ayers^ The Koger Collection^ no.148. A similar vase was inventoried in the Dresden collection of Augustus the Strong before 1726.
