The larger is carved to one side with the scholar Wang Xizhi and his attendant watching geese, the reverse is carved with a poetic inscription and with the signature of Zigang, all below an upper border of two confronting dragons. The smaller is carved to one side with a scene from The Romance of the Western Chamber, and the other side with a poetic inscription with the signature of Zigang, all below an upper border of two confronting dragons.
The larger: 5.8 cm. long, 3.7 cm. wide, 0.6 cm. thick
The smaller: 5.5 cm., 3.4 cm. wide, 0.7 cm. thick
Condition: Both plaques appear to be in overall good condition, one of the plaques has a few small nicks to the edge.

Period: Qing dynasty (1644-1911)
