Pair of Napoleon III candlesticks, ca. 1870. Gilded broce and marble. Measurements: 74 cm. (height). Pair of French Napoleon III candelabra made in gilded bronze mercury, with a classically inspired historicist design, mainly inspired by the style of Louis XVI. It consists of a tripod base (vegetal legs, angular base and the base of a fluted column) on which rests a pair of marble goblets, decorated with vegetal motifs and allusions to basketry. Each cup has two handles of marked curved format, with its upper part finished with vegetal elements. Above it is the body of lights, raised on a crown also with vegetal motifs. It consists of five arms composed of vegetalized turnstones topped by lighters in the shape of a classic vase on a vegetal saucer. It also has an extra lighter in its center, which culminates with an imperial flame.
