River landscape. 18th c Drawing, pencil, framing line in pencil and grey wash, 21,3 x 31,3 cm, laid paper with watermark (Strasbourg coat of arms), signed at bottom left: "J.V.D.V." (apocryphally signed Jan Van de Velde?) (pricked at corners, few light brown stains, few spots, sl. toned at left and upper edges). Hinged at upper edges, under passe-partout. Several houses on the river bank with a woman standing in the doorway at left. Prov. Franciscus Bauweraerts (1898-1983), Antwerp diamond cutter (ms. note, see L. 3325).
