À chaque fois que la question m’a été posée sur l’identité de ce style, c’est très souvent à ce type de bijoux faits de matières simples aux formes expressives et élégantes que je pensais. C’est l’occasion privilégiée d’insister sur les sources d’inspiration des deux génies du lieu. Celles de Mme Jeanne Boivin et son intérêt prononcé pour le goût Antique et Médiéval et celui de sa grande dessinatrice Mme Suzanne Belperron qui sût capter la vibration de son temps pour l’art abstrait et l’associer aux productions d’art ethnique. Each time I was asked about the identity of this style, it was often to this category of jewels I was thinking about : pieces made from simple materials combined with an eloquent and elegant structure. Now is an opportunity to address the influences of the two geniuses standing before us. First, the genius of Mrs Jeanne Boivin and her affinity to the Ancient and Medieval arts and secondly, the genius of her designer, Mrs Suzanne Belperron who was skilled enough to capture the fluctuations of her time for abstract art and associate it with artistic indigenous productions.
