Three Japanese ivory okimonos illustrating daily life in Meiji period Japan, H 6,8 - 6 - 5,7 cm / 94 - 64 - 68 g (+) The first one depicts a jolly landsman ready to pour his tea and is pleasantly entertaining with a colleague outside our sight, signed Sozan; a second one is showing a public scribe and umbrella seller working in the shadow of his parasol, signed Seisei; the last one represents a firewood seller accompanied by his son and signed Hiroyiki. Provenance: from a private collection in Belgium. This item is included in the commissioned private catalogue, titled 'The Nibajama collection', items no. 154, 100 and 87 (+) CITES certificate for commercial activities inside the EU, no. 2023/BE00859/CE, 2023/BE00866/CE and 2023/BE00868/CE
