Ethiopia, Konso, a male post figure, waga, arms flanking the elongated torso, wearing necklaces, the head surmounted by a conical projection and a plank like ornament behind. Alain Nicolas notes (Ibid., p. 224), "Funerary sculptures, carved in a very hard wood, were made during the lifetime of an individual. Certain sculptures represent masculine figures, arms alongside the body, with heads topped by traditional crested coiffures. h. 135,5 cm.
