COLQUHOUN, Archibald Ross Across Chrysê, being the narrative of a journey of exploration through the South China border lands from Canton to Mandalay [...]. Illustrated with 2 portrait-frontispieces of the author, 3 maps in colour (2 fold.), 25 plates of which 5 fold., and numerous in-text ill. The aim of the journey made by the British explorer Colquhoun (1848-1914) was to trace the best route to connect the Burmah and China by railway; the fold. map in 2nd volume depicts a proposed extention of British Burma Railway System. Colquhoun was the first Administrator of the Southern Rhodesia or British South Africa Company.
