A pair of large French green patinated cast iron torcheres on a marble base, possibly Val d'Osne, second half 19th C. H 206 - 190,5 cm (with and without the lights) Each with spreading socle and fluted baluster column supporting a fleur-de-lis decorated urn issuing three curved branches with frond-cast drip-pans, terminating in a flame finial, on cylindrical bleu turquin marble pedestal with octagonal base and bun feet. Ref.: - J.C. Renard, L'Age de la Fonte, Paris, 1985, p. 265: This fine pair of cast iron torcheres are similar to the designs of Carl Blondel for the Parisian foundry Val d'Osne.
