'Judgement of Paris' - bronze sculpture based on the famous sculpture by Rudolf Schadow, a German Jewish sculptor who lived between the years: 1786-1822), depicting Paris holding the apple with a Phrygian turban on his head, the statue has a brown patina and a speckled black marble base (Nero Portoro Marble), drilled in the back of the base in preparation for a base for a table lamp, not wired, Base dimensions: 13x13 cm, Total height: 51.5 cm. (* Rudolph Schadow was the eldest son of the sculptor Johann Gottfried Schadow and Marianne de Widel, a Jewess. He began his training with his father in Berlin. In 1810, with the help of the sculptors Antonio Canova and Bertal Thorvalsen, Rudolf and his younger brother Wilhelm Friedrich von Schadow moved to Rome in 1811. Rudolf studied in the studio of Christian Daniel Rauch. Unlike his brothers Wilhelm and Felix (who was later born to his father's second wife) who chose to study painting, Rudolf chose sculpture. He returned to Berlin for a short time and in 1812 returned to Rome, became a friend of Christian Daniel Rauch and converted to Christianity. In 1812 he rejected an offer of a position on behalf of the Dusseldorf Academy of Art. Shado died at the age of 36 and was buried in Sant'Andrea della Prata.)
