15th century Castilian school. "Saint Helen" Tempera on board painting with gold background. Saint Helen, 3rd century Roman Empress, is shown with her head crowned and a halo, wearing imperial finery. In her hands she is holding the cross and the nails of the Passion as symbols. On the left of the board there is a mountainous landscape drawn with perspective. Outstanding and delicate gold work, as well as the quality and finesse of the painting. 53 x 55 cm.
