A VOTIVE STATUETTE OF A KOUROS H. 11.2 cm. Bronze, solid cast. Etruscan, late 6th cent. B.C. Nude figure with stocky build in an upright posture with his left hand raised to hip level. The slim waist makes for a pleasing contrast with the broad shoulders and muscular legs. Hair rendered as a hair cap with some single strands at the neck. Remains of tangs under the feet. Hands slightly worn; left hand restored. Provenance: Formerly American priv. coll., 1960s. There- after American art market, 1990. Bronze, Vollguss. Etruskisch, spätes 6. Jh.v.C. Nackt, kräftig proportioniert, in aufrechter Haltung; seine linke Hand auf Beckenhöhe erhoben. Schlanke Taille im reizvollen Kontrast zu breiten Schultern und muskulösen Beinen. Das Kalottehaar kappenartig gestaltet, im Nacken Lockensträhnen. Dornansätze unter den Füssen. Hände leicht bestossen, die linke ergänzt. Provenienz: Ehem. amerikanische Privatslg., 1960er Jahre. Danach amerikanischer Kunstmarkt, 1990.
