A WINE STRAINER L. 23.2 cm. Bronze. Etruscan, 5th-4th cent. B.C. Flat pan with angled rim and deep well in the form of a strainer. The long flat handle ends in a duck's head. The sieve was probably used at banquets or symposia. Strainer with minor restoration work, minor superficial corrosion in places, otherwise in a good state of preservation. Provenance: Coll. Jerusalem - 1991, 37 no. 21 with illus. WEINSIEB L. 23.2 cm. Bronze. Etruskisch, 5.-4. Jh.v.C. Flache Schale mit abgesetztem Rand und vertieft gearbeitetem Siebeinsatz. Der lange flache Henkel mündet in einen Entenkopf. Das Sieb dürfte einst bei einem Bankett bzw. Trinkgelage (Symposium) zum Einsatz gekommen sein. Siebeinsatz mit kleineren Ergänzungen, Oberfläche partiell leicht korrodiert, sonst in gutem Erhaltungszustand. Provenienz: Slg. A. L., Basel, 1970er Jahre. Vgl. Kat.
