"Masque de Picasso " 1913  Bronze lost-wax sculpture. With the founder's seal: "V. Gimeno Fun."   The lot includes a Certificate of Authenticity from Jean Anguera Gargallo, the artist's grandson, dated 6th November 2014, which indicates that this is an extremely high quality sculpture, true to the plaster cast that Gargallo made of his stone portrait of Picasso which can currently be found in the MNAC (Catalan National Art Museum) in Barcelona.  The certificate details that Magali Gargallo sold this work of art to the sculptor Yves Revelli, through Llorens Artigas, soon after the Second World War. It also explains that the sculpture does not appear in the 1998 catalogue put together by Pierrete Anguera Gargallo, as the sculpture has only recently been located.  The founder, Gimeno Blanes, was artistic director at the Tanagra Foundation in L'Hospitalet. 20.5 x 19.5 x 14.5 cm.
