[Breviary] - Breviary, containing Psalterium, Hymnarium, various Officia, and smaller related texts. [France?, Low Countries?, 1487?]. Latin manuscript on vellum, cont. blind gauffered leather (skilfully repaired with blank ff. as pastedowns, catch and clasp gone), spine on 3 raised bands, a.e.g. (fading), c. 13,5 x 9,5 cm, 245 ff., quired 1:10, 2:8, 3-19:10, 20:14, 21:10, 22:8, 23:6(?), 24:10 (-1?), numbered 1-10 in pencil, 1-235 in old red ink (blank f. 225 cut out, blank ff. 231-232 bound at front as pastedown and flyleaf), writing area of f. 8,2 x 5,8 cm, 21 ll., catchwords within penwork border and centered; kept in a cloth box. Exc. condition. Cfr. ill. Interesting nicely executed liturgical ms. Contents: [1]v-[3]v “Ratio ad invenie(n)du(m) pasca (...)”, dated 1487; [4] blank; [5]r-[10]v Calendar (Rome); 1r-142v Psalterium; 143r-163r “Hymni per totum annum”; 163v-178v Offices of the Holy Virgin, and of the Dead; 178v-181v 7 Psalmi Penitentiales + Litany; 182r-188r Kyrie, Antiphona, Hymni; 188r-192v Officium Sanctae Crucis; 193r-208v Missa; 209r-223v Confessionale Magistri Ioannis Viterbiensis; 224r-235 blank (but for 2 ll on f. 234r). Decoration: rubricated in red/blue throughout; 2 five-line gilt initials (one with King David); numerous 2-line and 5-line initials in red/blue with penwork extending into the margin. Pasted on front flyleaf: drawing of an angel, c. 9,5 x 4 cm, on vellum, cut out of another ms., in blue and red with a gilt halo.
