Ivory netsuke Japan 19th century, Edo period (1615-1868) The god of wealth depicted here with his characteristic attributes, the hammer and nezumi (rat), holding a sack over his shoulder. The cute rat is carved very well with tiny inlaid eyes. Well hollowed out himotoshi through the underside and sack.
