A Chinese famille rose 'ladies' dish Lot n° 37

The dish is decorated to the centre with a panel enclosing a scholar and a lady seated in a study with an attendant nearby, facing out to a fenced garden. The scene is encircled by a gilt spearhand band and the rim is decorated with three gilt cartouches enclosing flowers on a band of bianco sopra bianco flowers. The outer edge of the rim is decorated with blue enamelled flower scrolls. Condition: There is wear to the gilding. Otherwise the dish appears to be in overall good condition.
