A pair of Chinese famille rose 'ladies' soup ... Lot n° 49

Each plate is decorated to the centre with a scene of ladies at leisure in a garden, picking leaves from trees into baskets and sorting them. The scene is encircled by a gilt spearhead border and the rim is decorated with four shaped cartouches enclosing alternating bird and flowers and landscape scenes.
