Ellison, a member of the Egyptian Exploration Society. The EES was established by Amelia Edwards and Reginald Stuart Poole in 1882 with the primary objective of exploring, surveying, and excavating in Egypt. </p><p><br></p><p>Axel Guttmann was a well-known private collector of European weapons. His collection began with a Roman Bronze helmet and grew rapidly to over 1,000 pieces. Known for lending his collections for exhibitions and providing accessibility to researchers, Guttmann&#39;s collection was auctioned following his passing in 2002 and 2004.</p><p><br></p><p>Arthur Bowen Davies: Modernist American Artist. While not widely recognized as a collector of ancient artifacts, Davies collaborated with prominent American societies such as the Rockefellers, assisting them in establishing their own collections.
